The first Citroen 2CV made an appearance in 1938 after Pierre Boulanger wanted to make a car to fit 4 people and 50KG of potatoes with low running costs. Unfortunately due to the war being declared shortly after the were only able to unveil the car in 1948 at the Paris Salon. Production then ran until 1990 with more than 3.8 million 2CV's made. They introduced the Special edition model 'Dolly' which was based upon the 'Special'. It became a permanent model in their range due to the unrivalled popularity of it outselling all other models. After its fantastic run of 42 years the 2CV finally ceased production succumbing to customers demands for more speed. However 2CV's still live on today and are very popular classics cars to own and enjoy. Easily accessible, parts are easy to source and the iconic look makes this classic car affordable and great to use.
